Omaha has no shortage of incredible bakeries. From hidden gems to longtime staples, I’ve pulled together my favorite sweet spots from across the city, and added your recommendations to try soon!

Brownie BarRockbrook Village
An entire bakery dedicated to brownies? Yes, please. Choose from Traditional, Blonde, or Dark Chocolate bases, then pick your frosting and toppings to build your perfect treat. It’s basically customizable dessert therapy.

Bubbly TartMidtown
This one’s a little whimsical in all the right ways. They serve delicate macarons, cakesicles, and letter and number cakes (great for birthdays or events). They also host cake decorating classes and tea parties, which are perfect for a fun girls’ day or even solo treat-yourself time.

Carter & RyeField Club
Sweet and savory hand pies with new flavors dropping every week, like pistachio rose lemon and brown sugar cinnamon. They also pop up at farmers markets and collaborate with other businesses for mashup events, so keep an eye out.

Crum Cakes BakeryN 114th St
This is the spot for custom cakes that actually taste as good as they look. They also do cheesecakes, cookies, and other sweets. Perfect for special occasions or when you need a treat that’s a little extra without being over the top.

Grand Patisserie144th & Center
A French-style bakery that flies a little under the radar. Think mousse cups, delicate layered desserts, and perfectly piped macarons. Great for when you want something refined, or just want to feel a little fancy on a Tuesday.

International BakerySouth 24th St
A neighborhood gem that’s easy to miss but so worth the stop. Their Mexican sweet bread (pan dulce) is fresh and warm in the mornings, and the donuts and cookies have that old-school comfort vibe.

Le Petit ParisPepperwood Village
This French bakery has a cozy, European feel and a menu to match. Eclairs, roulades, croissants, and fruit tarts are always beautifully made. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you to slow down and enjoy your coffee and pastry.

Le QuartierDundee, Loveland
An Omaha staple. Best known for their artisan breads, but don’t skip the sweet stuff. Their almond croissants, danishes, and fruit tarts are worth grabbing along with your sourdough. You’ll also see them at Omaha farmers markets during the warmer months.

Olsen Bake ShopLittle Italy
This family-run bakery is the definition of an Omaha classic. From kolache to cookies to old-fashioned glazed donuts, they’ve been doing it right for decades. It’s cash-only and early hours—so plan accordingly.

Reis BakerySouth 119th
Reis has been quietly baking high-quality European-style pastries for years. They focus on international breads and desserts using imported French flour. Their chocolate croissant and berry tarts are especially popular.

Square Donut160th & Maple
Not all their donuts are massive—but you can get them in an XL 12-inch size if you’re feeling ambitious. Square instead of round, always made fresh, and offered in rotating flavors and fillings. Go early for the best picks.

Sweet MagnoliasJoslyn Castle, NoDo
A boutique bakery with a seasonal, small-batch approach. They’re known for their Brown Sugar Cardamom Cake, but don’t sleep on the cookie sandwiches or layered mini cakes. Everything feels intentional, from ingredients to presentation.
