July 16 is National Ice Cream Day! What better way to celebrate summer than with a scoop or two? I know a thing or two about frozen treats, and these shops are where I recommend ordering a cone today!

Classic Cones

Coneflower Creamery

Blackstone + North Downtown

This Farm to Coneice creamery dishes up both standard flavors and their own seasonal creations in housemade waffle cones. They partner with local produce and dairy farms so their recipes are made with fresh, hyperlocal ingredients. Vegan flavors and gluten-free waffle cones have a place on Coneflower’s menu, along with ice pops, floats, and ice cream sandwiches.

Bonus: Pre-order their ice cream pies during the holiday season and you won’t be disappointed.

eCreamery

Dundee

This gourmet ice cream and cookie shop sits in the heart of historic Dundee. eCreamery’s storefront is always serving up unique flavors and cookie sundaes. They are known for their personalized pints, which make great gifts any time of year.

Bonus: Ice cream lover? Sign up for their Flavor of the Month subscription and receive 4 pints each month.

Graley’s Creamery & Confections

Downtown Papillion

Take a step back in time and visit Graley’s for an old-fashioned soda fountain experience. Their team is serving up a range of flavors, ice cream sodas, and classic sundaes every day. Plus, you can always count on them having at least one non-dairy option.

Ted & Wally’s

Old Market + Benson

Ted & Wally’s ultra-premium ice cream is nothing short of an Omaha staple. Around for almost 40 years with 3,000 flavors in their recipe book, this seasoned shop knows how to dish it. Every day they serve up vegan and keto flavors in addition to classics and seasonal offerings. You can get that in a cone, dish, sundae, malt—you name it! They’ll have you coming back every evening this summer.

Soft Serve

Christy Creme

Council Bluffs

A Council Bluffs favorite, Christy Creme is worth a trip across the river. You can order soft-serve cones, parfaits, and shakes at their walk-up window. Or, sit down inside and enjoy a burger first!
Looking for sherbet? Watch their flavor calendar to plan your visit.

Dolci Ice Cream & Desserts

Old Market

After an Old Market stroll, Dolci is a great place to swing by for a soft-serve cone. Known for their colorful flavor burst ice cream, they also have a full menu of classic Italian desserts so you can take a cannoli to go.

Rolled Ice Cream

Freezing Thai Rolled Ice Cream

Aksarben

For something new, try Thai rolled ice cream at Freezing! In this customizable experience, you can select your flavor and mix-ins and watch the rolling magic happen.

Bonus: They have a full Boba Tea menu as well.

Custard

Countryside Cones

Countryside Village

Although it’s not exactly ice cream, this soft-serve custard shop deserves all the love. Still in their first year at Countryside Village, Countryside Cones (AKA CoCo), serves up a standard custard cone with toppings or drizzles. My favorite part? They have vegan flavors + dole whip!

Gelato

Centi Gelato

Order Online

I hear you. Gelato and Ice Cream are not the same things. But after you order your first Centi pint, you won’t even care! This new shop creates specialty flavors like Taro, Banana Cookie Crumble, and London Fog—what’s not to love? You can order online for delivery or pickup at Hardy Coffee downtown.
